Q. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
A. I enjoy being with my wife Dana, my dog Rita Mae, my 3 children and their spouses, and 5 grandchildren (a 6th grandchild arrives in August). When the family is unable to gather, I like to play golf with my wife and friends.

Q. What was the best vacation you ever took and why?
A. On our 25th wedding anniversary, my wife and I vacationed for two weeks in France.  Our visit to Normandy Beach and the associated military cemetery honoring our fallen American troops was very moving.

Q. Where’s the next place on your travel bucket list and why?
A. I want to begin traveling to many of our U.S. National Parks.  There is so much history to learn and beauty to be seen.

Q. Where did you work before starting with Sunbelt? Eric Cluxton, Sunbelt Business Advisors
A. I worked in the financial services industry for 30 + years in some tremendous communities such as Dayton, OH., Indianapolis, IN., Portland, OR. and Cleveland, OH. My most previous place of employment was President of Mound Development Corp. in Miamisburg.  It was an exciting time to be involved in the successful selling and leasing of commercial property at a former Department of Energy site.

Q. What made you want to become an advisor?  I want to help successful people become even more successful by assisting them in buying or selling a
business.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about your current job?
A. I enjoy telling the story of Sunbelt Business Advisors to my many contacts in the Greater Dayton Region.  I like to meet or exceed personal goals and business objectives.

Q. Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
A. Very much an extrovert.  I enjoy being with people.

Q. How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do now?
A. The 10-year-old me would say, “Wow, I do know a lot of people and it makes me happy to help others.  I am proud of that.”

Q. What’s the best piece of advice a family member has given you?
A. Treat everyone with respect.

Q. What makes you feel at peace?
A. Relaxing at home with family, the dog, and friends.  Going to bed at night knowing that I have made a positive impact in this world.

Q. What are you most proud of in the last year?
A. Personally, I have committed to increasing my diet and exercise “BE A BETTER ME!’

Q. Who do you admire most in the world?
A. There are so many, but if I have to choose, then it would be Ronald Reagan.

Q. Would you rather make more money doing a job you hate or less doing one you love?
A. Without hesitation, it would be making less while doing what I love.

Q. How has your perspective on the world changed over time?
A. The creation of social media platforms has been interesting.  There are pros and cons to instantaneous observations/feedback.  Time will tell on the true impact of this on our society.

Q. Do you live by any piece of advice or motto?
A. Yes, by the Rotary Four-Way Test:

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
