"Tour our Offices"

Google local listings

Tour any office online – OfficeKey now has a Google Virtual Tour of each of our five offices.  When someone views OfficeKey’s business listings on Google, they can choose to “see photos” or “see inside”.  From here the user can navigate through the core of the office and get a feel for the space online before visiting in person.

We are happy to announce that our clients can use these virtual tours as well.  While they can’t be embedded into another Google listing, the link(s) can be added to a website or shared directly with a future guest.

We believe this will be very beneficial particularly for new visitors and potential clients in the following ways:

  • Quality presence – They will see that you have a top-quality office perhaps before choosing to work with you.   Our goal is that the office is used as a tool to build trust.
  • Visitor directions – Just like you might provide new guests with directions to the office, they can also be given the link so that they can get a view of the reception area from the elevator.  This will help them feel even more secure that they are in the right place when they do come in to visit.
  • Sophistication- It’s just another tool that you can use to show the visitors to your website that you are investing in your firm.

Q: What does your business do?

A: Retirement Funding Solutions is a direct lender to Seniors (Boomers) age 62 and older who wish to use the FHA HECM (Home Equity Conversion Mortgage) to stay in their current home; or to use the HECM Purchase program to buy a single level: ranch, patio or garden style home with maintenance-free living. We are Funding America’s Retirement – One Client at a time.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your career, and about working through OfficeKey?

A: I totally devote myself to helping my “Boomer” clients (62+) to understand and make one of the most critical financial decisions of their life. Asking the question: “Are you living in a home that meets your current and future lifestyle needs?” On average Seniors are spending 38% of their retirement income on housing. Controlling the cost of shelter is critical for all retirees. OfficeKey offers me professional office space, accessible multiple locations for my senior clients to meet with me and fantastic staff support.

Q: How do you like to spend your time outside of work? I love to read, travel and be outside. Office

A: I love to read, travel and be outside. OfficeKey provides fantastic office space – but I am inside most of my work day. So, taking walks and working outside is good for me.

Q: If you could only pick 3 movies to watch the rest of your life, what would they be? I like the old classic’s: Gone with

A: I like the old classics: Gone with the Wind – my wife’s name is Scarlett and everyone calls her Miss Scarlett. Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall and Chinatown, with Jack Nicholson.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? The older that I become – I appreciate

A: The older that I become, I appreciate how important it is both having and taking advantage of your good health. My super power would be to possess a strong heart, soul, and mind.

"Meet Marie Gemelli-Carroll, President of Starboard Strategy"

Starboard Strategy in CincinnatiStarboard Strategy is a management consulting practice.  They help organizations and teams figure out where they are, where they want to be, and the best ways to get there. They work with clients on strategic plans, research, analysis, community and customer engagement, meeting facilitation, marketing, communications, business development and process improvement. Their slogan is “Good thinking; Better results.”

Their President, Marie Gemelli-Carroll participated in our Client Q&A this month.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your career, and about working through OfficeKey? I most enjoy the clients, building a relationship while helping clients solve problems, and producing change. I also enjoy the variety of projects and the businesses of my clients—corporate, government, nonprofit.

OfficeKey is a great home base for Starboard Strategy. We started 22 years ago in my home office, moved three times into progressively larger offices that, over time, became a burden rather than a catalyst for our work. OfficeKey is the right combination of dedicated office space with access to an array of space and services in this stage of our consulting practice,

Q: How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

A: I like reading mysteries, walking, cooking and baking, and volunteering.  My husband and I like to travel when we can.  We have a daughter who lives in London, and a daughter, son- in-law, and granddaughter who live in Cincinnati—so we enjoy being empty-nesters, and spending as much time being Nonna and Papa as we can!

Q: If you could only pick three movies to watch the rest of your life, what would they be?

A: That’s a tough one. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation; Auntie Mame; and Singin’ in the Rain. With The Wizard of Oz tied for third place!

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

A: It’s not a superpower but should be– the ability to eat what I want and not put on any excess weight!

Q: If you could hire any celebrity to work for your strategy business who would it be and why?

A: Martin Sheen for his presentation skills and Catholic values.  Michelle Obama for her ability to engage with people, one-on-one.

Q: Have you had any particularly rewarding experience during your career?

A: Too many to document! One would be when, under the leadership of then-CEO Dwight Hibbard of Cincinnati Bell, I had the opportunity to work on the team developing the vision for downtown Cincinnati—a vision which today still guides the efforts of Downtown Cincinnati Inc. to sustain a safe, clean, and vibrant downtown. It is always rewarding when a client expresses satisfaction with a project or strategic planning process, generates a referral, or invites Starboard back for additional engagements.

Q: Which OfficeKey location do you think has the best restaurants nearby?

A: Downtown Cincinnati–eclectic array in the Cincinnati Business District, The Banks, Over The Rhine, and Northern Kentucky, Mt. Adams—here, the culinary world is at our doorstep, from food trucks to fancy dining!

"New Reception Desks Are Here"

Renovated Reception Areas at OfficeKeyWe have recently installed upgrades to three of our offices in the form of new reception desks!  The Blue Ash, Hyde Park and Northern Kentucky offices each had new desks installed earlier this month.  

The reception desk is the first thing people see when entering our offices so these changes are not made lightly.  The new desks are more modern, professional, functional, and in the end hopefully more impressive to your clients.  Our goal is to provide an office that you can be proud of and use to build trust with your clients.  First impressions can not be underestimated, and our hope is that our upgrades will improve on that experience.

Efficient and Welcoming Reception

Another huge benefit is that the new desks provide your favorite OfficeKey employees with more efficient space to complete their work and do it comfortably.  Many factors were carefully considered including the height of the desks.  We’ve always believed that it is important for those visiting the office to be able to see the receptionists face.  So with that in mind, we do not want desks that are too high.  On the other hand, the desks are a work surface and in dealing with so many clients there needs to be a measure of privacy. We think we found a good height that accomplishes both of these objectives.  

Last but not least the change has helped to created a more uniform look among each of our locations. So when you or your guests are visiting a new space, you still have a sense of familiarity. "Meet Elizabeth Na, CPA of Na & Associates"
Elizabeth Na, CPACPA, Elizabeth Na had an office for over 25 years before coming to OfficeKey.  OfficeKey fit perfectly in the virtual operation that she was transitioning her business into a few years ago. She primarily meets her clients at the Blue Ash, Hyde Park, and West Chester locations, wherever is the most convenient for them. She took time out of her busy day to participate in our Client Q  & A: 
 
Q: What does your business do?
A: We are the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and tax adviser for small business owners.  Our goal is to enhance efficiency and profitability.
 
Q: What do you enjoy most about your career, and about working through OfficeKey?
A: I enjoy being part of clients’ success, and giving them ideas to save taxes.  After 30 years of being a CPA, I enjoy especially being a business at this time, to witness and enjoy the efficiency that the technology has enabled us to achieve.  OfficeKey fits perfectly with our virtual operation.  The three of us, at NA & Associates, either work at any of the OfficeKey locations or at our own space.  Clients meet us at the OfficeKey location that is the most convenient to them. It has been wonderful.
 
Q: How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
A: I enjoy hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.  
 
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: I have three: Sound of Music, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Anne of Green Gables.
 
Q: If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
A: If I can have the power of God for a day, I would wipe out the cruelties done to children in the world.

A: Krista Neher, a social media guru here in Cincinnati.  She can guide us on establishing and revamping social media presence which we desperately need.

Q: Have you had any particularly rewarding experience during your career?
A: After a complex planning project for a retiring client, I received a nice letter to thank me and offer me a cash bonus.  I accepted the letter and declined the bonus with gratitude.

"Office Support Enhancements discussed at Annual Staff Meeting"

Cincinnati Office SupportSeveral weeks ago, OfficeKey conducted our annual staff meeting. With a twelve-person team spread across five locations, this meeting always provides an incredibly valuable opportunity to get our staff under one roof where we can focus on how to better serve our clients and their guests with our office support services.

Each year we hold the meeting at a local business that we feel has a knack for high-level customer service or hospitality.  It allows us to get outside of our everyday bubble and hopefully learn a few things from their operational success.  This year it was hosted at Envision Cinemas, a unique new movie theater in Blue Ash that doubles as a full-service restaurant.  In recent years we have met at Nordstrom, the Aronoff Center, the Cintas Center, and the Horseshoe Casino among others.

We covered many topics, all with the primary focus being on how we can provide better office support in 2017 and beyond.  First, we spent some time zeroing in on the primary niche that we serve.  We know full well that there are many options available to companies when establishing an office.  So by regularly recalibrating our focus on those that can most benefit from our service we can take an important step to continually meeting those needs and developing our services.

Client engagement was another topic of discussion.  We want to make sure we have good communication with those that call OfficeKey home and also make sure we provide a vibrant community.  It is shared space after all and the sense of community is an intangible thing to measure but its importance can’t be understated.  To test our client engagement skills, we teamed up for a couple rounds of “OfficeKey Family Feud.”  (Special thanks to the clients that helped us by responding to our survey!)

How Can we provide even better office support?

To further improve our services for clients, we discussed the topics of caller assistance and after-hours access. Caller assistance is an integral part of our typical work dayso it’s always necessary to review where we could improve our methods used for that practice. And continued focus and development on making sure we have smooth after-hours procedures is just another way we are working to add value.

What will the “office of the future” look like?

Finally, we discussed the “office of the future,” and what it would look like. It’s interesting to see what seemingly outlandish day-to-day activities some offices have in place, and perhaps, more importantly, check out some of the technology that may one day become part of the typical office support system; then we can step back and see if any of those things could benefit us here at OfficeKey.

But the day wasn’t all business. We also got to enjoy a tour of Envision Cinemas and sit down in their restaurant for lunch. Overall, it was a successful annual meeting and we hope that many of the topics discussed there will contribute to a better OfficeKey experience!

"Cincinnati Sales Coach, Duane Plapp"

We were able to catch up with Sales Coach, Duane Plapp between speaking engagements to ask him about his business and some of his favorite past-times. Duane has been a client of OfficeKey for seven years and recently celebrated his 70th birthday!

Besides being a sales coach to local small business owners and managers, he is a sought-after public speaker on the topics of referral marketing and business growth.

Duane officially Cincinnati Sales Coachretired about 10 years ago, but coaching is a passion he didn’t want to give up. His sliding scale fee structure allows him to provide services to those who are just starting out and need that extra push to excel. His deep knowledge of business also allows him to coach seasoned professionals who want to move to their next level.

Q: Tell us about Total Revenue Coaching?
A: Total Revenue Coaching is a marketing and sales coaching and training business. Our core business philosophy is to help marketing professionals to create effective communication and develop strong relationships through the right strategic activity.

Q: How did you decide to be a Sales Coach?
A: I love to help people and coaching is the best way I know to give back.

Q: What type of clients do you enjoy working with most?
A: I love working with small business marketing professionals.

Q: What do you enjoy most about what you do?
A: Sales Coaching gives me the opportunity to interact with a lot of people and create a lot of great relationships. I love seeing people succeed!

A: The Conference rooms at OfficeKey are perfect for my training sessions. The monitors and whiteboards make my sessions more visual and more engaging for my sales coaching students.

A: I enjoy golfing, fishing, and camping.

A: “Cha Ching!”

A: I enjoy watching and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. They keep me entertained all year round!

A: I would have to say the Bible.
