"Recommendations for a Healthy Office"

OfficeKey has come up with several best practices for meetings that will help protect the health of everyone using our spaces during this unique time:

  1. Use a larger than necessary room – Take advantage of using a larger room so that your group has space to spread out and maintain a level of social OfficeKey Healthy Office Recommendations
distancing to promote a healthy office environment.
  2. Limit the number of attendees –  The President has suggested limiting groups to 10 or less.  While it is not yet mandated and we don’t plan to police that, we recommend that larger groups are avoided as much as possible.
  3. Clean up after yourself – Dispose of coffee cups and water bottles, if chairs or tables are moved put them back to how you found them.  This will help us be efficient in keeping the environment sanitized.
  4. No extra guests – Now more than ever we need guests to not bring anyone else with them.  Typically they could wait in our building lobbies but for now it is best that they remain in the car or better yet at home.
  5. Web conferencing – We have a GoToMeeting account that is available to all clients.  You can reserve the number under the “Conferencing” tab of the reservation system.

Please email the staff at staff@officekey.com if you have any questions.  We will continue to be in touch with further updates as this situation evolves.  Stay connected with us on Facebook for more updates. "Meet Quadrivium President, Julie Rowland"

Quadrivium AdvisorsQuadrivium is a Business Coaching and Consulting Business.  In the world of business, it is difficult sometimes to know what steps to take to move your business forward.  Everyone gets stuck in what I call “Ground Hog Day” dream where you wake up every day with same to do list, the same tasks and goals that weren’t met and the hope that this year will be different.  Quadrivium helps set you on a path to success and we hold you accountable every step of the way.  Businesses do not have to go it alone.

Quadrivium President, Julie Rowland completed our Client Q&A:

Q: How did you come up with the name Quadrivium and what does it mean?

A: Quadrivium in Latin is the place where 4 things come together perfectly.  I figure it is my job to bring Policies, Procedures, Systems and Controls into place so your business can run on all cylinders.  My daughter actually came up with the name as she is the wordsmith in the family!

Q: What is the makeup of your ideal client (size, industry, challenges, etc)?

A: My ideal client is in the service industry and has been in business 3-8 years.  They have fewer than 50 employees and are spending ¾ of their time working in the business and not running the business. Their profits are stagnant, and they want to work less and make more!

Q: What do you like most about your partnership with OfficeKey and (how long have you been here)?

A: I’ve been with OfficeKey over three years now and it fits me perfectly.  I have clients all over the city, so the availability of multiple locations is perfect.  I also spend the majority of my time at my client’s places of businesss, so I do not need be in an office every day. The offices are beautiful and the large conference rooms allow me to teach my seminars right on site. And my clients always think it is such a smart business move not paying for a big office since I work with them on their expenses!

Julie Rowland of Quadrivium AdvisorsQ: If you could have dinner with one historical figure who would it be and why?

A: My dad.  He died when I was 4 and I do not have any memories of him.

Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

A: I am not sure it is a superpower, but I would love to be able to “beam myself up”.  My children do not live in the state and I would love to transport myself there with just a nod of the head or a simple command.

Q: What is your favorite movie or tv show?

A: Currently The Great British Baking Show.  I have seen every episode multiple times, and then watch it again.  One of my goals is to spend 20 days overseas baking and cooking with the best!  I love trying out their recipes.

Q: What is your favorite book?

I just finished, for the third time, The Life We Bury by Allen Askens.  A college student has an assignment to write the life story of an elderly stranger.  He chooses a Vietnam Vet who was convicted of murder and spent 30 years in jail.  He is now dying in a nursing home and agrees to be interviewed.  The story is not about proving him innocent but trying to reconcile the hero with the convicted murderer and understanding life’s journeys.

Who is your favorite singer or band?

A: I have to say Amy Grant and Vince Gill just because I was lucky enough to have dinner with them one night.  It was just the three of us and it was awesome.

"Adopt-A-Class Update"

Adopt-A-ClassOfficeKey is very excited to partner with Adopt-A-Class again this year.  This will be our third year working with the kindergarten students at Miss May’s class at South Avondale Elementary.  Our first visit was in October. We did a “watch me grow” activity.  We planted seeds and measured the height of each student so that we can follow their progress over the course of the school year.  And since it was Halloween we had to spoil them with a little bit of candy as well!  We have some exciting things planned for this year and really enjoy the opportunity to spend some time with these great kids and their teachers.

These catastrophes can cause chaos which I help to navigate, so my clients can focus on the areas where they have the most control, their careers, family and homes.

Q: In addition to your day job you are a city council member in Blue Ash.  What have been some of the highlights of your current term?

A:

  • Completion of Summit Park and dedicating the tower, and nature scape playground.
  • Launching a first ever suburban Zagster bicycle share program.
  • Relocation of Hamilton County Cororner to Blue Ash (40 new jobs).
  • Recruiting Ensemble Health (2,500 new jobs).
  • Finished downtown streetscaping and sidewalks including improved ADA accessibility.
  • Repaving Kenwood Road and addition of pedestrian island for safety, and speed limit notifications and narrowing lanes to slow speed.
  • First ever city in US to ban short term rentals (under 30 days).

Q: With the election upcoming, what is your message to voters?

It takes a certain person to commit to public service, to dedicate time, effort and put your whole heart into the process. To understand that decisions are not just for now, but also future generations and won’t make everyone happy all the time.

But I LOVE it, I am committed to my community, the city I was raised in, the city where my parents still live and the city I returned to after my husband passed away; where I came to raise my children. It is the city where I work, live and the city I love to serve.

I promise to continue represent my constituents, be there when called, and make the decisions that are difficult, with the best insight I can gain, and consideration for our benefit and the benefit of future generations.

Q: What is something that most people wouldn’t know about Blue Ash?

A: Blue Ash used to have two airports. One was on Cooper Rd.

Q: What do you like most about your partnership with OfficeKey and (how long have you been here)?

A: I have been at the Blue Ash location for 7 years. I love the flexibility that OfficeKey offers in using space all over the Greater Cincinnati area and still have a friendly voice when calling to ask a question. The employees of OfficeKey are simply awesome.

Q: How do you spend time outside of work?Linda Bauer of Viceroy Wealth Counsel

A: I like to ride my bike. I am an endurance cyclist and have completed 9 Centuries.

Q: What is your favorite vacation destination?

While I also like to go to the beach to relax, my favorite was climbing to Annapurna Base Camp in the Himalayas. That was not only a physical challenge, but also had beauty beyond belief along the trek. Starting in a jungle and climbing a mountain and adding layer upon layer until I was bundled up like a snowman at 13,549 ft. where neither animal nor plant lives. Fascinating!

"OfficeKey’s 35th Anniversary"
In September of 1984 OfficeKey (named HQ at the time) began serving Cincinnati based businesses. The concept of sharing office space was relatively new at the time and of course the function of an office has very much evolved since then. However over the years our organization has stayed true to the fact that we are not simply selling office space but place the highest priority on providing a best in class service.

OfficeKey's 35th AnniversaryIn the early years that service included a heavy workload of administrative work, primarily made up of answering phones and word processing.  At one point in the 80’s it required a team of 17 people in one location to manage these tasks.  For comparison, now we have 2 people per location (the industry standard is 1 to 1.5!).  And while we still provide those traditional admin services, technologies such as cell phones and email, things that we take for granted today, have completely changed the dynamic of how we assist our clients.

These days our staff is made up of a bunch of jack-of-all-trades that are available to assist with whatever our clients need.  Whether that is simply greeting a visitor, troubleshooting an IT issue, or helping to set up a presentation, we provide the support that allows our clients to focus on what they do best, their core business.  We now like to define ourselves as a “Pro-working” company, meaning that we help our clients achieve a level of professionalism and productivity that they can’t get anywhere else.

Again, we want to thank all of our past and present staff, clients and partners that have contributed to our success over the past 35 years. Enjoy some photos from the early years!

"Susanne’s 25th Anniversary"
Northern Kentucky Office Support 25 yearsSusanne Hanks joined our team 25 years ago last week.  She primarily works out of our Florence location where our clients have relied on her for years to keep things running smoothly.  Her hard work and dedication to our team and those we serve is sincerely appreciated by everyone who crosses paths with her.

Susanne had this to say about her 25 year milestone, “I love the diversity of what I do, that I never have the same day twice and that every day brings new opportunities and new adventures.”

In her free time Susanne enjoys going to local shows and events but has a particular love for rock concerts.  Pair any of these activities with some wine and she is all set!

Susanne’s work ethic is unmatched and she is truly an asset to everyone in the OfficeKey community.  We are very lucky to have her.  Next time you see her be sure to tell her congratulations.
