"OfficeKey’s 35th Anniversary"
In September of 1984 OfficeKey (named HQ at the time) began serving Cincinnati based businesses. The concept of sharing office space was relatively new at the time and of course the function of an office has very much evolved since then. However over the years our organization has stayed true to the fact that we are not simply selling office space but place the highest priority on providing a best in class service.

OfficeKey's 35th AnniversaryIn the early years that service included a heavy workload of administrative work, primarily made up of answering phones and word processing.  At one point in the 80’s it required a team of 17 people in one location to manage these tasks.  For comparison, now we have 2 people per location (the industry standard is 1 to 1.5!).  And while we still provide those traditional admin services, technologies such as cell phones and email, things that we take for granted today, have completely changed the dynamic of how we assist our clients.

These days our staff is made up of a bunch of jack-of-all-trades that are available to assist with whatever our clients need.  Whether that is simply greeting a visitor, troubleshooting an IT issue, or helping to set up a presentation, we provide the support that allows our clients to focus on what they do best, their core business.  We now like to define ourselves as a “Pro-working” company, meaning that we help our clients achieve a level of professionalism and productivity that they can’t get anywhere else.

Again, we want to thank all of our past and present staff, clients and partners that have contributed to our success over the past 35 years. Enjoy some photos from the early years!

"Sharpening the Axe"

The (not-so) secret sauce at OfficeKey is that we have a great team that goes above and beyond for our clients on a daily basis. However, since our staff is spread out across five locations there are not a lot of opportunities to gather in one place and grow as a team. So a few times each year we make a point of bringing everyone together. One of those times is a summer outing that is planned with the sole agenda of having fun and building camaraderie.

In years past we have done an escape room and taken our swings at TopGolf.  This past month we took our talents to Urban Axes in Over-the-Rhine for an axe throwing competition. Axe throwing is getting quite popular and now we know why! We sharpened our skills with a few practice rounds and then launched into a tournament. We certainly accomplished our goal of having a great time as a team, and I am happy to say that no OfficeKey staff members were injured during the event! Here are some photos to entice you to check it out!

"Meeting Space for 50"
Did you know OfficeKey has meeting areas that will accommodate up to 50 people?
In addition to the spaces within our suites that are included on the reservation system, OfficeKey offers access to a handful of larger conference rooms that can accommodate bigger groups. All rooms, with the exception of the downtown space, fall under your general allowance for conference rooms.
  • Northern Kentucky- 20 person room
  • Blue Ash- 50 person room
  • Hyde Park- 50 person room
  • Downtown- 100 person room
These spaces are building amenities and thus require an OfficeKey staff member to reserve.  To inquire about availability please email our staff at staff@officekey.com with the time and date you would need the room or if you would like a tour.

We recently completed the renovation of OfficeKey’s Northern Kentucky office.  The cosmetic upgrades include new flooring throughout the space, updated furniture and artwork, new blinds on exterior windows and new privacy film on interior windows. Construction work was done to expand the kitchen area to include seating and add a privacy booth across the hall. We hope you’ll check things out in person but in the meantime here are some before and after pictures:

Entryway: New doors, new privacy film, new flooring and new artwork.

We hope you will stop in to the Northern Kentucky office to see the changes in person! As always, clients can use the mobile app to reserve space at any of our locations.

"Proworking vs Coworking"

New Office Layouts for Proworking What is the difference between Coworking and Proworking?

Many people ask if OfficeKey is a coworking space.  The simple answer is yes. The coworking industry has many definitions but can essentially be described as the flexible use of an office by people who are self-employed or working for different employers in order to take advantage of the shared resources of space, equipment and support services.

The industry has evolved very rapidly over the past 5 or so years and has produced many different types of niche operations. Many of these coworking spaces focus first and foremost on the “co” part of coworking, that is the community aspect of things. While OfficeKey certainly incorporates a vibrant and connected community, that is not the main driver.

We like to categorize ourselves as being in the “proworking” niche. The “pro” indicates a primary focus on providing a space that is professional and productive. We certainly have a great community that we hope all of our clients will plug into, however that is secondary to setting them up for success in their business by creating a space that represents them well, provides distraction-free work and meeting space and a support staff that is second to none.
